What Should I Do for My HVAC System as Summer Ends?

HVAC MaintenanceWe haven’t had much of a summer when it comes to hot weather – in fact, 2017 saw record cool temperatures for many areas of the Midwest!

That’s made for light loads on many of the HVAC systems in the Miami Valley region. But there’s still some important maintenance to do before the really cold weather hits.

1. Check the filter. Even if your A/C only turned on a few times this season, dust, dirt, allergens, molds, pet hair and bacteria have gathered and may need to be removed before the furnace kicks on.

2. Adjust the thermostat. Make sure your comfort needs are met without wasting energy.

3. Clean the coils. Dirty evaporator and condenser coils make your equipment work harder, wasting energy and shortening the life of the system.

4. Check the condensate drain. Plugged drains can lead to flooding and humidity issues.

For maximum system health, sign up for one of our scheduled maintenance service agreements. Our professional staff will address any health, safety, efficiency or performance issues.
